Update your .coop listing
Before you can make updates to your .coop directory listing for a domain, you need to Claim your listing. This needs to be done for each domain that you own. Please click here if you have not Claimed the listing or domain that you want to update to find out how to do that.
Login
From the top menu bar select the Login option. A simple login screen will be displayed. Enter your .coop id and the password for that listing/domain and click the Log in now option. Use the Forgot Password? link if you forget your password. A link to reset your password will be sent to the email address of the Registrant Contact as identified in the .coop Whois. If you have any questions or problems, you can click on the “Help Desk” link.
Once logged into your account, your domain’s personal "map" is displayed. You have many options for customization of your map image although only basic information needs to be included in order to fully activate your dotCoop directory listing will be available for those interested in locating your co-op.
To see how you can update and customize your map, click on the question mark on the top right of your screen.
Help boxes will appear, with instructions on how to proceed. Click the question mark again to hide the help boxes
Change your Member Geo information
You can change the display and update information related to your member location. These fields control what is displayed in your Listing box and also where your map “info bubble” is located on the .coop directory.

First, click on the edit tab below your listing in the directory.

You can view and change the following fields:
- Business Name – Defaults to the name on your registration
- Description – Blank at setup
- Address - Defaults to the address on your registration
- Telephone Number: Defaults to the number on your registration
- Toll Free Number: Blank at setup
- Fax Number: Defaults to the number on your registration
- Email Address: Defaults to the email on your registration
- Website Address: Defaults to the domain name on your registration
- Contact Person: Blank at setup
- Keywords/Tags: Blank at setup – for people to search on
- Specialty: Blank at setup - Select the most appropriate co-op category
Click on the Save button at the bottom of the screen to save any change. You may need to refresh your browser or clear your cache to see your changes.

Be sure to update any information that you would like to be different than your registration information. Here are some reasons to update this information:
- Your registration is maintained by your ISP and shows their location and contact information rather than yours. Make sure you update the Business Name, Address and other Contact information that is displayed on the maps so that people can find you!
- If your main office is in one location and your IT department is located elsewhere, be sure to identify the location that you want to be your primary location.
- If your location on the registry is a P.O. Box then you will want to put your physical address into the directory system.
- You want any email contacts from this list to go to your general mailbox (info@xyz.coop) rather than the person in charge of your domain.
If there are fields that you do not want to display such as email contact you can click on the "eyeball" to the right of the field and that field will be hidden on the Listing box. These changes are made immediately when saved.
You can also change the color of your listing box layout, by clicking on the Styles mini-tab. Select the color you would like, then click on the "Apply" link below it. Go back to the minfo tab and “Save” Again, you may need to refresh your site to see any changes made.

You may also make changes to your geo-listing by going to your Dashboard, clicking on the Manage tab, going to the Affiliate / Member Profile and Edit Member Geo Info pages. See below for more information.
Update your member listing information
Please note that no changes made on the .coop directory entry are sent to your registrar or to the .coop registry. If you want these changes to be made to your registrar account, you must make them there. All changes made on your registrar account will be submitted to the .coop registry and will be reflected on your .coop directory entry.
In the Dashboard , click on the Manage tab.

The Affiliate/Members screen will be displayed. Your domain name will be displayed under the Affiliate ID column.

Click on your domain name once it is displayed in the Affiliate Id column. Now the Edit Member Profile / Edit Member Geo Info screen will be displayed.

The Edit Member Profile tab will display and update information related to your member account including these fields:
- Email address for Forgot Password? reminders
- Password to login to your account
- Visibility of your entry on the .coop directory (see below as well)
- .Coop Domain name associated with the account (Affiliate Name)
- Description to be displayed on the Listings box on the .coop directory
- Logo to be displayed on your widget
To make a change, simply enter the new information in the box and click "Save" at the bottom of the screen.
If you would like to remove your listing from the .coop directory, click on the Directory Member Visibility dropdown list and select the appropriate entry. Or, you can click on the “Opt Out” button on the right-hand top of the screen. You can either opt-out entirely or set the entry to be temporarily invisible if it is still under development or for other reasons you do not want it displayed at this time.

Update your listing with a photograph and video
To add videos and photos, please follow these directions:
In the Dashboard , click on the Set Up Content link.

Select Step 3 - Add Content, then click Add at the bottom of the page to add the content.

You may search from popular content sites like YouTube and Photobucket to find content. Use the SEARCH button to locate videos with your keywords and add a title and description for the content. You may also assign specific keywords (tags) for optimizing your searchability.
Upgrade your Account
All of the customization listed above is available through your free directory listing courtesy of dotCoop. Further customization is available by upgrading your account and for a limited time, we are offering a free 60-day trial basis upgrade package.
Upgrading your account allows you have access to all of our customization offerings, including the ability to:
- choose a theme
- customize your background
- customize your header or footer
- add multiple videos
- add multiple photos
- change your subdomain and use domain masking
- customize your widget
For a free upgrade, follow these directions. From the dashboard, click on Upgrade Account link.

Select the upgrades you would like. You will not be charged or asked for payment details during the free trial period. Confirm your selections.
Click on the Go To Site link in your dashboard. You will now see a Manage Profiles link on your directory map listing page.
